GXS Launches Credit and Debit Card Reconciliation Portal

GAITHERSBURG, MD — March 6th, 2013 — GXS, a leading provider of B2B integration services, today announced that it has launched GXS Active Variance, its latest Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application. GXS Active Variance is a web-based portal to assist merchants in managing the remittance and cash settlement activities associated with converting credit and debit card receipts into cash.

With this new hosted offering from GXS Brazil, companies are able to aggregate credit and debit card transactions from multiple card issuers, including point-of-sale transactions, interchange fees, payments, charge-backs, disputes and adjustments. Once aggregated, the merchant can reconcile card transactions to its internal records, easily identifying exceptions and forecasting cash flow. GXS Active Variance users can choose their preferred language, English or Portuguese, and filter transactions by various criteria such as card issuer, sales date, point-of-sale location and customer.    

According to the Brazilian Association of Credit Card Companies and Services (ABECS), the number of card transactions in Brazil grew 16% from 3Q11 to 3Q12, with the value of payments rising 20% in that same period.
