GXS Aids Leading Associations in Widespread Adoption of e-Invoicing Throughout the UK and Europe

Sunbury, United Kingdom — September 19, 2012 GXSTM, a leading provider of B2B integration services, today announced that the company is participating in three leading associations to help further e-Invoicing adoption throughout the UK and Europe. GXS is now represented on the European e-Invoicing Service Providers Association (EESPA) interoperability and public policy working groups, the European Commission Multi-Stakeholder Forum on e-Invoicing (EC EMSF) and the UK e-Invoicing Advocacy Group (UKeAG).

“Through these associations, GXS has the opportunity to help define the standards, processes and frameworks necessary to drive the adoption of e-Invoicing from both a buyer and a supplier perspective,” said Nigel Taylor, head of e-Invoicing solutions at GXS. “Representing the company on all three of these associations provides me with the opportunity to address the concerns of the industry as well as our customers. With more than 40 years of experience in B2B integration, GXS is well placed to provide guidance and input into this initiative and help improve how European businesses exchange e-Invoices  today and in the future.”

The Associations are working to create standards and processes as well as provide education to further the progress of e-Invoicing in Europe:

  • The European e-Invoicing Service Providers Association (EESPA) is an International Not-for-Profit Association that aims to develop a framework to combine common methods of electronic invoicing, including EDI and digital signatures.
  • The UK e-Invoicing Advocacy Group (UKeAG) Recognised by the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills as the UK’s National Forum on E-Invoicing, the group was set up in 2010 to contribute UK expertise to the European Commission’s Multi-Stakeholder Forum on e-Invoicing.  It also promotes how UK public bodies and commercial enterprises of all sizes can save money and realise the benefits of replacing paper invoices with wholly electronic transactions.
  • European Commission Multi-Stakeholder Forum on e-Invoicing (EC EMSF) The European Multi-Stakeholder Forum on e-Invoicing brings together delegates from national e-invoicing and key stakeholders from the user side of the market to help pave the way for a broad-scale adoption of e-invoicing at both national and EU-level.

GXS provides companies with a range of e-Invoicing solutions to suit the varying needs of any company in reaching 100% trading partner participation in their programs and streamlining on-going collaboration with both suppliers and customers. Using GXS, companies can also electronically exchange invoices with regulatory compliance.
