Sunbury, United Kingdom — May 11, 2011 — GXS™ today announced that SWIFT, the world’s largest network for financial institutions, has awarded GXS the SWIFTReady Connectivity Best Label. With the award, GXS becomes one of only ten global providers and the first business-to-business (B2B) integration provider to receive the label.
SWIFT (www.swift.com) manages the world’s largest network for financial transactions. Each day, more than 9,000 banking organisations, securities institutions and corporate customers across 209 countries trust the member-owned cooperative to safely exchange millions of standardised financial messages.
“We are seeing increased interest from global corporations to simplify multi-bank connectivity using SWIFT,” said Fred Slavin, Head of Channels and Partner Management, SWIFT Americas. “We congratulate GXS on achieving the SWIFTReady Connectivity label, since it recognises the GXS SWIFT Service as an offering with high operational standards and security for SWIFT connectivity.”
“This recognition fits well with GXS’s commitment to providing a reliable, global service. We are delighted that SWIFT has recognised our commitment to these high standards,” said Mark Mixter, Senior Global Product Manager for Financial Services, GXS.
The GXS SWIFT Service Bureau, launched in late 2010, allows corporations to exchange payments, securities orders, reporting, and other financial information with their financial institutions through one highly secure, standardised communication platform, without taking on the administrative burdens or costs of managing its associated IT infrastructure. The GXS SWIFT Service Bureau is run on the GXS Trading Grid, the world’s largest integration cloud that manages more than 10 billion transactions a year.
The SWIFTReady Connectivity Best Practices Label is the highest form of certification awarded by SWIFT and helps end-users identify best-in-class providers who are recognised as having the highest operational standards for managing electronic financial transactions between companies.
To receive the label, GXS underwent a multi-day on-site inspection of its data centres, including an audit of its service availability, security, access control, disaster recovery, telecommunications, system integrity, financial integrity and change management processes. The GXS SWIFT Service Bureau has also achieved SAS70 Type 2 and SWIFT audit certifications.
GXS and SWIFT will host a webinar for corporate treasury executives on May 18, showcasing how improved B2Bank connectivity can enhance banking relationships and support team goals in improving liquidity, optimising cash, securing financing and controlling risk.
