Sunbury, United Kingdom — March 2, 2011 — GXS™ the world’s leading provider of B2B e-commerce solutions, will be co-hosting the 113th EDIFICE Plenary with GXS customer STMicroelectronics. GXS will present a keynote at the plenary, which takes place on Wednesday 2nd March and Thursday 3rd March in Paris, France. The theme for this plenary will focus on the demands of customers’ business models and B2B integration challenges.
Steve Keifer, GXS’ vice president of Industry and Product Marketing, will be delivering the keynote on ‘Differentiating the Customer Experience in a Teardown Economy’. The presentation will highlight how the high-tech industry is dominated by increasingly short product lifecycles and intense competition and will discuss ways in which companies can employ a flexible B2B e-commerce program to gain competitive advantage.
“As commoditisation of the supply chain increases, companies have come to feel that product differentiation is growing increasingly weak”, commented Steve Keifer. “As a result, more competition is now being enabled through superior processes and service solutions, than solely in products themselves. The 113th EDIFICE plenary will be a chance to debate the customer centric supply chain, including best practices for engaging partners in B2B processes, how to adapt to varying customer business models, and the customer technology preference such as web services, AS4, and OAGI standards.”
EDIFICE, the European Network for B2B integration in High Tech Industries, provides a forum for European organisations to create standardised processes through best practices, information sharing and standards development. Each Plenary brings together companies interested in sharing ideas and best practices specifically within the technology market, including B2B standards, governance and legislation, ROI and business modeling.
“The sharing of experiences around the strategies and tools needed to differentiate customer experiences around B2B integration is important to the success of high tech organisations in 2011”, said Denise Oakley, vice chair of EDIFICE and international marketing director for GXS. “ This EDIFICE plenary will enable member organisations to explore ways in which productivity and efficiency across their business can be improved.”
